How to Reset Tinder: A Step-by-Step Guide

It’s no secret that Tinder has changed the dating game. Largely credited for being the dating app that normalized dating apps, it introduced the world to a whole new way of dating. Though online dating had been around for quite some time before Tinder came along in 2012, it introduced the swipe and casualness to lnline dating.

If you’ve been on the app for a while, resetting Tinder might be a way to keep things fresh. Why would someone reset their Tinder account? There are a few reasons. You thought of a new bio, you’ve totally changed who you are as a person, you feel like you’re seeing the same people over and over, or you’ve run out of swipes. Or maybe you want to give some people a second chance, or maybe they want to give you a second chance. To start entirely fresh is like re-joining Tinder all over again, which could be a great thing for a lot of people.

But how do you do it?

First of all, it should be noted that you can erase all of your pictures and delete your bio without entirely resetting your Tinder account. If that’s what you’d like to do, simply edit and remove stuff and proceed by giving your Tinder a refresh.

But if you want to start over entirely, follow these step-by-step moves.

1. Open Tinder.
2. Head to settings.
3. Select that option that reads “Delete Account.”
4. Follow the steps to delete your Tinder account.
5. Uninstall the app from your phone.

Now if you created your Tinder using your Facebook, the next steps are vital.

6. Head to settings on Facebook.
7. Select “Apps and Websites” in your Facebook settings and find Tinder.
8. De-select Tinder from the menu and select “remove” to erase it from your Facebook history.

And now you’ll start over! Head back to your phone, download Tinder, and use your Facebook or phone number to set up your new account. (Potentially good advice—use your phone number instead of your Facebook if you used Facebook the first time.)

And now the world is your oyster! Feel free to set up your new Tinder account and make the best of it. If it doesn’t work out in the future, remember these steps and try again.

Happy swiping!
