But if you\u2019re in an on-again, off-again relationship, have you ever wondered <\/span>why<\/span><\/i> you keep breaking up and getting back together? Consider these seven reasons and see if it\u2019s time to break the cycle for good.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. You\u2019re attached to each other.
\n<\/b>Once you have a strong connection with someone, it can be hard to break things off. If you\u2019ve been together for a long time, it\u2019s as if they\u2019ve become a part of you. Attraction and chemistry don\u2019t just disappear overnight; it\u2019s only natural that you keep finding your way back to each other. But just because you\u2019re attached doesn\u2019t mean that attachment is good.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. You\u2019ve already put a lot of time into the relationship.
\n<\/b>To many people, the thought of having to start all over at the beginning with a complete stranger (let alone having to <\/span>find<\/span> said stranger) is overwhelming. You\u2019ve already invested so much time in someone, so it\u2019s natural to want to make it work with them rather than starting from square one. But again, just because you\u2019ve put a lot of time into a relationship doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s the right one for you.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. You\u2019re not prioritizing your own needs.
\n<\/b>Take a moment to think about why you keep getting back together. Is your partner guilting you into it? Setting clear boundaries for yourself\u2014and sticking to them\u2014will help you see what you really want with more clarity.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. You\u2019re not listening to your gut.
\n<\/b>You know that feeling when something is \u201coff\u201d or just isn\u2019t right? Or that voice in the back of your head that doesn\u2019t agree with what you\u2019re doing? But all too often, no matter how committed you are to a relationship being different, people inevitably revert back to their old ways. 6. You\u2019re scared of being alone.
\n<\/b>That might sound harsh, but be honest with yourself: Do you keep getting back together with your ex because the thought of dating, meeting new people, and starting all over is exhausting?
