You probably tell your partner you love and care about him every day, but this can get a little stale and repetitive after a while\u2014two things which are never good for relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are plenty of sweet and spontaneous ways that you can express your feelings, that can actually have much more of an impact than this classic phrase.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s how to tell him you love him<\/a>, without using those three little words.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Cook him his favorite meal.
\n<\/b>Everyone says the way to a man\u2019s heart is through his stomach\u2014and that\u2019s kind of accurate in a sense. (In fact, it\u2019s probably true when it comes to us women, too!)<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next time you\u2019re home first in the evening, why not surprise him with a special, home cooked dinner? <\/span>Take some time to plan it out beforehand, so that you don\u2019t get overwhelmed on the night. <\/span>And don\u2019t worry if you\u2019re not great at cooking, just try your best to make him something you know he\u2019d like to eat. You could even make this a little nostalgic dinner, and cook him something he loved eating as a child.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surprise him with kisses, hugs, and affection.
\n<\/b>The longer we\u2019re in a relationship, the less physical we tend to be, and the more we forget to do the little things we used to do when we were first dating. <\/span>You know the things I\u2019m talking about\u2014the cute stuff like kissing, hugging, cuddling on the sofa, and holding hands in the street. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surprise your partner by wrapping your arms around him from behind, or kissing him next time you\u2019re doing something mundane like grocery shopping. He\u2019ll be reminded of how much you care for him. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listen to him.
\n<\/b>Men as a whole aren\u2019t great at sitting down, opening up, and talking about their feelings. That\u2019s why on the rare occasions when they do, it\u2019s so important that they feel listened to\u2014because then they\u2019ll feel safe to open up again.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Men find having a conversation with someone they care about emotionally meaningful\u2014even if it\u2019s about something that doesn\u2019t seem very meaningful, like sports, or current affairs. <\/span>Just talking to each other can help you feel deeply connected, and held. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Play footsies with him under the table.

Let him know that he makes you happy.
\n<\/b>When was the last time you told him that he makes you really happy? Have you ever told him? Because saying, \u201cI love you,\u201d and saying, \u201cYou make me really happy,\u201d are two very different things. <\/span>That doesn\u2019t mean everything is perfect, or that you don\u2019t have your bad days, but it\u2019s about choosing to look at the bigger picture, and everything you have that\u2019s great.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let him know how you feel, how happy you are, and how much you appreciate him\u2014It\u2019ll mean a lot to him. More than you think it will.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Give him some guy time.
\n<\/b>Chances are, you and your guy are best friends, which he\u2019ll probably tell you when he\u2019s in one of his rare, emotional moods. But he\u2019s still a guy, and he probably still wants to go and hang out with some other guys, and talk about guy stuff.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Give him your admiration.
\n<\/b>You might not realize it, but you represent the feminine approval in your man\u2019s life\u2014the same approval that they try and get from their mothers. <\/span>A man\u2019s self-esteem usually comes from how well he believes he\u2019s doing at work, as a partner, or as a dad. Support his dreams.
\n<\/b>You\u2019ve probably been together long enough to know about any big, future dreams your partner has. The problem is, most of us have commitments like our jobs, a mortgage to pay, or kids to look after\u2014which leaves little room for being selfish and prioritizing our dreams.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Show him you support him and love him, and come up with a plan to get him one step closer to one of his dreams. Even if that means you need to compromise or sacrifice a little to make it happen.
