New dating sites and apps pop up every week and the number of people who meet online is rising every day. With things moving so fast, it\u2019s hard to keep up with the social norms associated with all the new technology. When is it right to friend someone on Facebook? How much should you share on Twitter? It\u2019s hard to say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s why the online dating site Zoosk conducted a series of surveys with people across the United States about the social media etiquette around sharing romantic moments on sites such as Facebook and Twitter. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s what they&nbsp;found:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Coworkers and Social Sharing Don\u2019t Mix<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">60% of Americans say they are cautious about posting romantic posts on social media because they are worried about what their coworkers might think.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">64% of Americans would be more apt to share romantic relationship updates on social media if they were not Facebook friends with their coworkers.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">38% of Americans say they don\u2019t post any relationship or date night photos on social media sites because they\u2019re friends with coworkers<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Couples Embrace Technology <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">81% of couples say they use technology to interact with each other throughout the day.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">60% of couples say the primary role of social media in their relationship involves publicly expressing feelings of love or sharing photos\/videos or relationship updates with family and friends.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Texting Is More Romantic<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">78% of Americans would prefer a romantic text vs. an affectionate Facebook post or Tweet.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Women Like to Share About Their Dates<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">51% of women like to check out their friends\u2019 romantic photos and updates.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only 37% of men like to check out their friends\u2019 romantic photos and updates.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So how do you use this information to your advantage? We asked dating and relationship experts to give their feedback:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Don\u2019t Over-Text<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laurie Davis, founder of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eflirtexpert.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">eFlirt Expert<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, says sometimes we mistake the convenience of communication for the availability of our sweetheart. Don\u2019t send more than three back-to-back texts without a response.<br>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><\/li><li><strong>Share the Love<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Julie Spira, a leading online dating expert, CEO and founder of <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/cyberdatingexpert.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cyber-Dating Expert<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and author of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Perils of Cyber-Dating<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, says that when a couple changes their relationships status, the cheering squad from friends jumps into high gear with an abundance of likes and messages.<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Be Professional<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Julie Spira suggests if you wouldn\u2019t say it in a job interview, don\u2019t post it on Facebook.<br>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><\/li><li><strong>Get On the Same Page<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everyone has a different level of comfort with online romance and it\u2019s important to know your partner\u2019s social sharing preferences.
