Seeing that these women are both sexy <em>and <\/em>smart, we sense there\u2019s more to these relationships than just a need to explore the Mrs. Robinson clich\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what is it about older women that young men can\u2019t resist? We&nbsp;chatted with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanwinter.net\">Susan Winter<\/a>, an evolutionary relationship expert and co-author of <em>Older Women, Younger Men: New Options for Love and Romance<\/em>, to discuss the top six traits that make mid-life women magnets for men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>She doesn&#8217;t play games.<\/strong> Forget playing coy or playing games, period. Older women don\u2019t play games, and that\u2019s very attractive for a man. \u201cThe fact that they don\u2019t play games gives a younger man a&nbsp;road map to a successful relationship,\u201d says Winter. \u201cYounger women aren\u2019t quite sure what to say. [They]&nbsp;don\u2019t even know that they are playing games. Younger men like the clarity that older women have.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Her confidence.<\/strong> When a woman shows comfort and pleasure in everything she does, it\u2019s difficult for a man to resist her. \u201cConfidence is sexy,\u201d says Winter. \u201cWhether it\u2019s an attitude or in the bedroom, older women have gained a self-awareness and that\u2019s desirable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Her ability to communicate<\/strong>. Clarity is key in every relationship, but it especially comes easier to an older woman\u2014an attractive attribute for most younger men. \u201cWe are not afraid if someone likes us or likes what we like. We just like what we like and that equals easy communication,\u201d says Winter. \u201cMost men, I find, tell me, they just want to know, \u2018What do you want, what do you need?\u2019 They are the first ones to say, \u2018Why didn\u2019t just you tell me?\u2019 This is something that you learn over time. \u2018Wow, it\u2019s easier to get along with men than I realize. I just have to tell what I want and need.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>An older woman&#8217;s power<\/strong>. There is something very alluring about a woman who is self-sufficient and who can not only foot the bill for dinner, but who can also take care of herself financially. \u201cThis group of men is turned on by a woman\u2019s power. The older men that I know don\u2019t like women who are too successful or powerful. They don\u2019t think it\u2019s feminine. So they have an archetype of women and how it was in the \u201850s,\u201d says Winter. \u201cBut the young guys, they\u2019ve grown up with working moms, and also they find [power] a turn-on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Seeking \u201ccontent over flash.\u201d<\/strong> Younger men who are interested in older&nbsp;women are done with the sexual conquests and the nightclub behavior. They are now seeking something more. \u201cThey have a deep need for content,\u201d says Winter. \u201cOne reason why I think we\u2019ve tipped to this point in our evolution. Sexuality is open. Men can eat from the candy store anytime. It is not hard to get a hookup. Twenty years ago, you had to be a boyfriend. Fifty years ago, you had to be married. So because hookups are part of the culture, you get a lot of women. But what happens is, it\u2019s like if you eat all the junk food you want, you\u2019re like, now I want to eat a real good steak. Now [younger men] are connoisseurs, so they are looking for something more. They are looking for a woman to show up emotionally. A mature love, a depth. An older woman has a lot of content.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Older women look good<\/strong>. Using Madonna, Moore and Berry as exemplary examples\u2014yes, older women now are healthy and vibrant\u2014and hot. \u201cThey look ten years younger for their age group. Sometimes fifteen, twenty years,\u201d says Winter. \u201cSo now, visually, they are on the radar for younger guys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t your age disqualify you from a great relationship.
