Curl Up With The Best Romantic Movies On Netflix

Happy couple smiling and cuddling on the sofa while watching some of the best romantic movies on Netflix.

What’s better than curling up on the couch with your sweetheart and watching some of the best romantic movies on Netflix? Whether it’s fall or winter, there’s no better time to pop some popcorn, grab a blanket, and get cozy while watching a mushy rom-com together.

Netflix has plenty of romantic movies — from the weepy to the sappy to the funny — that’ll satisfy everyone’s taste. If you’re in a relationship, these movies will make you feel extra grateful to be with your special someone. If you’re not coupled up, these flicks will warm your soul and give you hope for your very own happy ending.

So, settle in with your favorite snack and get ready to be swept off your feet. Below, we’ve put together a selection of some of the best romantic movies on Netflix

What Are Some of the Best Romantic Movies on Netflix?

Love Guaranteed (2020)

A feel-good movie about a lawyer whose client wants to sue a dating site that guarantees its users will find true love. Call us crazy but it seems like the courtroom might lead to courtship.

Twilight (2008)

Love it or hate it, this story of Bella Swan’s tortured romance with teen vampire Edward Cullen is a cultural phenomenon. Also, it proves that love at first bite really does last forever.

Always Be My Baby (2019)

Do you ever get over your teenage crush? Ali Wong and Randall Park try to figure that out as former teenage lovebirds who reconnect as adults.

Nights in Rodanthe (2008)

Diane Lane and Richard Gere team up in this adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ novel of the same name. They play two strangers who share a weekend at a North Carolina beach inn. When a hurricane strikes, sparks fly, and that’s not just because of the lightning.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018)

Based on the YA series, this movie will bring you back to the embarrassing days of having your first crush. If you’re like the movie’s high school protagonist that is, whose secret love letters get mailed to her top five crushes.

As you might guess, this gives her a super awkward start to the dating world.

Crazy Stupid Love (2011)

With all the stars and storylines in this movie, you’re pretty much getting three of the best romantic movies on Netflix in one. Steve Carrell’s character tries to win back his wife with the help of a very suave Ryan Gosling who’s after the heart of Emma Stone.

Lots of charm, laughs, and surprising hijinks with this one.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)

If you’re looking for an Oscar-nominated romantic movie, then you’ll love this flick starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. These two connect when practicing for a dancing competition, while they’re both in the midst of a personal crisis.

Some dramatic moments and funny one-liners (courtesy of Lawrence) ensue.

Definitely, Maybe (2008)

Who doesn’t love a movie starring Ryan Reynolds? In this one, he plays a dad who’s telling his young daughter about three past romances in his life, one of which turns out to be with her mother.

It hits the heartstrings and tickles the funny bone all at once. Plus, the flashbacks are set in the ‘90s and everyone loves the ‘90s.

Legally Blonde (2001)

It’s certainly one of the best romantic movies on Netflix and one that made Reese Witherspoon a household name. She stars as a sorority sister who attends Harvard Law School in hopes of landing her ex-boyfriend. Turns out, she ends up finding a lot more than that: herself.

Mystic Pizza (1988)

Julia Roberts stars in her first-ever rom-com — often argued as one of her best movies — in this coming-of-age story about three young women working at a pizza parlor. It involves all the ups and downs of love and life that comes with being a teenager.

Pride and Prejudice (2005)

Based on one of the most romantic novels of all time, this version stars Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen as Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy. Their performance is the reason why we’re so enthralled with the classic “will they or won’t they” trope.

Runaway Bride (1999)

She’s the queen of the rom-com genre for a reason and a decade after Mystic Pizza, Julia Roberts shines again. This time, she stars as a woman who’s known for running away on her wedding day. Richard Gere (her love interest from Pretty Woman) co-stars as a journalist who wants to tell her story, and as a result, gets pretty close to her.

Date nights at home are great, especially in winter! Add a romantic movie to it and you and your partner will be cuddling up on the sofa in no time. Whether you’re in the mood for a laugh or a cry, you can’t go wrong with popping some popcorn and selecting one of the best romantic movies on Netflix.
