5 Signs a Shy Girl Likes You

A shy girl smiling and looking away: one of the signs a shy girl likes you.

Ever wonder why some girls can be into guys but have a hard time showing it? There are many reasons why a girl might be shy. She could be introverted, which means she’s not naturally used to making big social interactions with people and tends to keep to herself. Another reason could be that past friendships/relationships have made her reluctant to get close to someone new. And then it could simply be that she’s never thought of making the first move on someone she’s attracted to.

So how can you tell if she’s interested? Here are the top 5 signs a shy girls likes you:

She likes small talk.
She’s interested if she engages in small talk as a way to get your attention. Shy girls don’t feel comfortable being direct. It’s all about the build-up of getting to know if you’re interested in them first. They also choose to talk to you when it’s the ‘right’ time, such as when it’s just the two of you or when you don’t seem busy. If the small chatter helps you two learn more about each other, then be prepared to make the first move when it comes to asking her out.

She opens up to you.
Shy girls are quiet and aren’t very outgoing, but that’s not the same as lacking confidence. We all get a bit nervous around someone we like, but shy people take it to the next level and because it’s harder for them to open up, it means so much more when they finally do. If a shy girl opens up about herself the more you two talk, and starts to share things about herself, it’s a pretty good sign she’s interested.

Eye contact can be difficult.
Shy girls are the ones who notice you but don’t want you to know right away. A girl breaking eye contact right away is a common sign of shyness, and could be seen as nervousness. One way you can break down the awkward barrier is by telling a funny joke or a funny story about yourself. Doing so will help her to not overthink everything and could be a way to see if she’s interested in talking to you more.

She texts you a lot. Or chats through messaging apps.
It might be easier for a shy girl to hold a conversation via text or through an app at first. When she texts you, does she respond often? Is she making an effort to ask you questions about yourself? Is she coming off as flirty? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions then there’s a big chance she’s interested in you.

Many of us are shy to a certain extent, and though it may be hard to tell if a shy girl is into you, it’s also part of what makes getting to know them so exciting. Not everyone gets to know the ins and outs of a shy person, so if you get to know them, you can bet you’re pretty special.
