Online Daters Show the Love for Our Armed Forces

Armed Forces Day is this Saturday, May 21 and as we honor the men and women who serve our country throughout the world, we thought it would be fun to take a look at what people’s romantic attitudes are toward singles who serve this country. After all, it’s easy to talk the talk when it comes to respecting the sacrifices made by our troops, and there is that old adage that women “love a man in uniform,” but does serving in the Armed Forces really give you an edge when it comes to dating?

Ya. Oh ya, it definitely does.

According, to the data collected from the popular online dating site Zoosk, people who have served in the Armed Forces get way more attention and activity than the average online dater.

After looking into the behavior of its members, Zoosk found the following:

– People who mention active duty in their profile receive 134% more incoming messages than the average online dater. Those who mention military and Armed Forces receive 65% and 22% more, respectively.

– In addition, people who talk about active duty in a message get 54% more responses than those who don’t and military receives 29% more.  

– Veterans receive a lot of love while online dating, too. Profiles with the word veteran get 65% more incoming messages than the average online profile.

-The individual branches of the military get their fair share of extra attention as well. Messages with the word Army get 24% more responses than the average, Marines receive 18% more, Navy 38%, the Air Force 42%, the Coast Guard 53%, and the National Guard up to 69% more.

Overall, it’s uplifting that the online daters on Zoosk definitely have a little extra love for those who have served. And is it any wonder? This Saturday, as you honor the people in your life in the Armed Forces, let them know how much they’re loved and appreciated.
