The Perks of Being Single in the Summer

A couple being single in the summer and hugging on the beach.

Whether you’re dating in your 20s, 30s, 40s or older, it seems that everyone is in a better mood in the summertime. What is it that makes us come alive in the summer? Here are four perks about being single in the summer you may not have thought of.

1. We’re more positive.
Just the word, ”summertime”, seems to give people renewed hope and a positive attitude. Because daylight is longer, we have more leisure time after work or school and everyone’s able to go out and mingle and meet people.  Summer is the time for to BBQs, new experiences, trips and traveling, and even a new summer love.

2. We’re hotter.
I’ll just say it, a lot of singles look their best during the summertime. Maybe it’s because so many people work out all winter winter to look fierce for the summer. Whether it’s your tight bod, your golden tan, or some extra vitamin D, you just look better in the summer! So take advantage of it—make that eye contact and smile to show you’re interested in meeting that new person.

3. We’re more adventurous.
Many of us are in that travel mode and are ready to take a summer vacation. Whether it’s with friends, family, or by yourself, we tend to have that welcoming vibe to meet new people and experience new adventures. Taking that singles cruise or tour to Europe or Alaska, will not only allow you to experience new cultures, but maybe a new love.

4. We’re ready to take a chance.
It’s all tied together… People are more positive in the summer because they’re looking good and they’re traveling and getting outdoors more. As a result, many of us are ready to take a chance on love.

Yes, love can happen anywhere, anytime, at any age with anyone, but there’s something about long, warm summer nights. Whether it’s the season, the heat, longer days, or some unexplainable summer something, it’s a time to take that chance and see what happens.
