Surprise Split: Only weeks ago, Charlize Theron was proclaiming that Sean Penn was “the love of my life”, but it seems the Oscar-winning actress has had a change of heart. According to multiple sources, the couple have called it quits after a year-and-a-half together. Theron has initiated the breakup; however, no reason behind the split has been given. Theron and Penn had been friends for nearly two decades before things turned romantic and, despite outward appearance, it seemed that the two were actually good for each other. Of his relationship with Theron, Penn had said, “It’s a lot more romantic and a lot more fulfilling to be in a relationship and to think you’re a good person within it.”
Dynamic Duo: Hollywood heavyweights Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are about to become the most charming, adorable couple—onscreen. The pair have recently signed onto the upcoming movie, Passengers, a sci-fi romance that’s already being compared to the most popular romantic flick of all-time, Titanic. Here’s a snippet of the plot, according to IMDB.com: “A spacecraft transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet has a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers. As a result, a single passenger is awakened 90 years before anyone else. Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he eventually decides to wake up a second passenger.” The major star wattage and likability of both Lawrence and Pratt will make the movie a definite must-see when it comes out in 2016.
Baby Love: Alec Baldwin is a new dad, again. The former 30 Rock star welcomed a son earlier this week with wife, yoga teacher Hilaria Baldwin. Hilaria announced the arrival of Rafael Thomas Baldwin on her Instagram account with a photo of the tiny tyke’s hand. Alec and Hilaria already share a 21-month-old daughter, Carmen, while Alec also has a 19-year-old daughter, Ireland, with former wife, Kim Basinger. It’s not surprising that the Emmy Award-winning actor was ecstatic about having a son. Hilaria said to Hello! Magazine, “The day that I told him he carried a football around for an hour afterwards.” Congrats to the couple!
Keeping It Professional: You won’t find Empire star Taraji P. Henson—otherwise known as “Cookie”—dating her co-stars anytime soon. She told Allure Magazine that she prefers to keep her working life separate from her personal life. “I always wanted to be known for my work. Not who I dated. Not who I slept with. … I have a gift, and my gift is acting,” she said. “I started in the business at 26 with a kid, so I was smart enough to know reality from fantasy,” adds Henson, mother to 21-year-old son Marcel. “I didn’t want to blur the lines. This is a job that I have to do. I cannot get caught up in it. And if I sleep with these guys, why would they want to work with me again?”
Normal Couple: Despite the fact that she’s a famous supermodel and he’s a successful pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, Justin Verlander insists that his relationship with Kate Upton is, well, normal. When asked about how he dealt with the huge photo hack that dispersed nearly 500 pictures of various celebrities, including Upton and himself, Verlander said, “I grinded through it…Kate’s there a lot for me. And we’re just normal people. You know, normal relationship—believe it or not.” And best friends. For National Best Friend’s Day, she shared a video of her boyfriend and best friend doing a dubsmash of Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” on Instagram.
