How to Make Him Want You: 10 Ways to Really Turn Him On

A woman who learned how to make him want you, about to kiss a buy outside in the sun.

Flirting is fun, but taking it to the next level is even more so. Are you in a back-and-forth friendship/relationship with someone and you’re looking to really tip him over the edge? Or are you in a long-term committed relationship but are looking to switch things up? Regardless of what your situation is, there are so many different ways to really turn a guy on.

Check out the following suggestions to learn a few small ways to make a guy really want you:

Use his name.
It may sound simple and obvious, but people really respond well to hearing their own names. There’s a certain intimacy to using someone’s name to get their attention or stress a point. Even more so then using a pet name. So instead of calling him boo or babe, look him in the eye and use his actual name. You’ll be surprised at how effective it is.

Be direct.
Being coy and flirtatious is definitely another tactic to turn your man on, but the total opposite will work too. Looking your man in the eye and telling him you want him is incredibly effective as far as turning him on goes. Want him to want you? Tell him. Whether you two are new to each other or have been together for years and years, a little directness goes a very long way.

Really have a conversation.
It may sound cheesy, but having a real conversation can be really effective in turning a guy on. When is the last time you two connected over a conversation? Don’t turn the television on, minimize distractions, turn on soft music, pour some wine, and make eye contact while you converse. People tend to save deep conversation for when there’s an issue or something to actually discuss, but it doesn’t have to be that way. You can certainly sit down to a nice night in while just chatting about your day, the news, or whatever else is on either of your minds. Looking at one another, sitting close on the couch, and chatting about anything and everything is a major turn on for most people—yes, even men.

Send those texts.
Regardless of your current relationship, sending a saucy text message is a very quick and effortless way to turn a man on. If you’re in a long distance relationship, this is key. But if you’re not, even if you just saw one another the night before, there’s nothing like opening up a text and reading something a bit on the scandalous side. Whether or not you include a picture is up to you, but the text message doesn’t even have to be graphic. Simply stating what you liked about the last time you were together, or what you’re looking forward to the next time together, or what you feel like doing—all of those will immediately make him want you.

Touch him.
Again, it may seem obvious, but intentional touch is really important in a relationship. The next time you’re in a big group, grab his thigh under the table. Or if you’re out to dinner, why not reach over and play a game of footsie? Sitting at home together? Grab his hand and gently rub it. Is he making dinner in the kitchen? Take a break from whatever you’re doing and go rub his back or shoulders. Intentional touch lets him know you’re thinking about him, and it is a subtle suggestion to where your mind is.

Be spontaneous.
When is the last time you called in sick to work just to spend the day together? Spontaneity is a really awesome way to turn a guy on. Go to work late to spend a bit more time in bed together. Or if you’re not in a relationship with him yet, ask him if he wants to play hooky with you and invite him to do things last minute. Whatever spontaneity looks like to you and your relationship, utilize it from time to time. Thjere’s nothing sexier than an unexpected surprise.

Wine and dine him
Because it’s often expected for the guy to plan a date, pay for a drink, or take the lead in many dating situations, when you take over and decide to do something nice or unexpected it can make a big impression. If you’re out with a guy friend you’d like to be something more, try buying him a drink. If you’ve been seeing a guy for a while, surprise him by planning a date or bringing his favorite take out home.

Be flirty.
Flirtation is always welcome, even if you’ve been together for a really long time. Though flirting comes more naturally when you’re in the beginning of a relationship and testing the waters with each other, it doesn’t mean it can’t exist throughout one. Flirt with your man often and obviously.

How do you make a man want you? Above all else, be yourself and utilize your instincts. Everyone is different, so try putting your own twist on some of the suggestions above. You’ll be surprised by how effective they can be.
